The Wolf-Pizor’s Story

“It is so joyful to be able to help. Not only does it make you feel good, but it reminds you of when someone helped you.” – Kate Wolf-Pizor

Generosity Cherishes | Kate & Jim’s Story

Jim and Kate Wolf-Pizor were drawn to Ashland by the warm sense of community and chose to make their home here. They quickly became involved in organizations close to their hearts. As supporters of  diverse causes, they strongly believe in philanthropy’s power to change the lives of those around them and they set out to do so here.

Jim and Kate care deeply about the arts, education and health care and are overjoyed to support organizations and initiatives that matter most to them. Like many others of the same generation, the couple saved aggressively for retirement, and later realized they had more than enough to share with others, through tax-wise gifts made directly from their individual retirement accounts (IRAs) through qualified charitable distributions.

By giving locally, Jim and Kate can care for the community in a special way. Both have relied on Asante for high-level medical care and realize how important this resource is for the community. When the couple learned about the Age-Friendly Initiative at Asante Ashland Community Hospital, they immediately recognized the potential to make a difference in the health and well-being of older adults, today and in generations to come.

“Giving is something worth doing for our society, our community, our Ashland – it’s an investment in a stronger, better Ashland… Philanthropy is a form of voting for the future.”

Jim Wolf-Pizor

“There is incredible power in doing good. The golden rule should be more than a rule – it should be a purpose.”
