Cathy’s Story

For Cathy, a long-time Josephine County resident and educator, regular mammograms were a part of her health routine.

Grateful for Comfort

In December 2016, her world turned upside-down when she was diagnosed with breast cancer – a rare combination of tumor types that required extensive treatment.

Donations to the Asante Cancer Compassion fund have made a difference for Cathy, as she endured many rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, as well as a bilateral mastectomy. Those life-saving treatments can have uncomfortable side effects. The Asante Compassion Fund provided Cathy with medical supplies not covered by insurance, easing her discomfort.

Cathy is grateful for the things that have seen her through – her family, her faith, her supportive employer and every donor who chooses to care for patients like her, through the Asante Cancer Compassion Fund.

“I wouldn’t have been able to purchase these medical supplies on my own without the Asante Cancer Compassion Fund.”
