AsanteForward is our most ambitious and significant philanthropic effort to date, with a goal of at least $50 million. The purpose of the campaign is to transform the quality and scope of health care available in Asante’s nine-county region, providing residents with exceptional medical care in our own community.
At the core of the AsanteForward campaign are six specific initiatives including a new patient pavilion to house several areas of care: a women’s and children’s hospital-within-a-hospital, cardiac care, critical care and advanced surgical services; cancer care; Age-Friendly care; behavioral health and expanded emergency services.
This pavilion will house an exceptionally high concentration of expertise and related resources centered around specific areas of medicine including a new women’s and children’s hospital, cardiac care, critical care and advanced surgical services.
Women’s & children’s health
Asante is committed to meeting the unique needs of women’s and children’s health by offering a full spectrum of services. The top two floors of the patient pavilion will be a dedicated hospital, housing labor and delivery, a Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU), a pediatrics department and outpatient infusion services for children, a Child Life program, among many other specialized services.
Asante’s heart and vascular program is nationally recognized for providing outstanding cardiac care. State-of-the-art facilities give patients throughout Southern Oregon access to dedicated and experienced cardiovascular and thoracic surgeons. This initiative will ensure our growing population continues to receive the best cardiac services with renovated surgical suites and increased access.
Critical care outcomes are enhanced by the quality of both the physicians and facilities as key treatment is delivered. Asante is well poised to provide the best possible care for our community.
Advanced surgical services
The most advanced surgical services are dependent upon state-of-the-art facilities, featuring the latest equipment and highly-trained surgeons. With your support, Asante will implement additional operating rooms with the latest technology to continue providing our community with the best possible access and surgical outcomes.
Asante cancer care
With an intense focus on the experience of the patient and families, Asante and the community have redefined compassionate care through the new Heimann Cancer Center and expanded Spears Cancer Center in Grants Pass, providing the most advanced cancer care in our region. Now, it’s going to take all of us to fulfill their potential.
Almost 25% of residents in Southern Oregon are retired and over 65. As our older population grows, there will be a significant increase in the demand for health care services. Asante is committed to meeting the unique needs of older adults in Southern Oregon by creating an Age-Friendly Health System at Asante Ashland.
Access to quality mental health care and support is a crucial component to overall good health. Our community has the opportunity to build on the strong foundation already set by local donors. This initiative has introduced a new model of care, and implemented renovations and a new Behavioral Health Unit to ensure that Asante continues to comfort, accommodate and treat patients in crisis. Next, our goal is to address access and prevention, and secure endowed support for this program to ensure patients have these services for years to come.
