Macy’s Story

Macy is a devoted teacher and a loving sister to six siblings.

Grateful for Compassion

Like many people who experience mental illness, Macy’s depression was not evident. She hid it from her family and friends for several years. Until one day, her family discovered the condition she was living in and she began having suicidal thoughts. This is when she knew she had to seek help and turned to Asante.

Macy describes her week in the Behavioral Health Unit at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center as the best and worst week of her life. “The Asante BHU saved my life. If I didn’t ask for help, I wouldn’t be here.”

Macy and her family experienced the limited space available for patients facing mental health crises. They are thrilled to hear that the Behavioral Health Unit expansion is underway, all thanks to your support.

“The donors that have helped the BHU…you will save other lives, you will give people hope and you will help spread awareness.”
