Mike’s Story

The heart attack that changed Mike Kahn’s life came out of the blue.

Grateful for Courage

Days before Christmas, the 34-year-old father called 911 and was rushed to Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center. With Asante’s top-notch care, he was home for Christmas with his family, but the experience left him shaken.

Before the heart attack, Mike was confident in his health. His cholesterol was low and his activity level was high as a stay-at-home dad to two girls, ages five and one. No one could have predicted his cardiac event or its impact on his mental well-being. With every twinge, he worried, “Will I still be here for my daughters?”

Mike found encouragement in Asante’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Center. Monitored by dedicated staff, he felt reassured and safe to push himself to exercise harder. Thanks to lifestyle changes inspired in Cardiac Rehab, Mike says he’s in even better shape than before the heart attack, and he feels empowered to learn and do more.
