Cancer is an illness that has touched the lives of nearly everyone – whether we’ve faced cancer ourselves or by the side of someone we care about. Presenting sponsor Lithia & Driveway allows participants to add names of the survivors they honor and loved ones they have lost to the “Ribbons of Hope” display at the third annual Asante Walk for Hope on Saturday, October 5. This meaningful activity was introduced in 2023 and has become a special touchstone for the community of cancer survivors and caregivers who gather at Asante’s Mary and Dick Heimann Cancer Center during Walk for Hope.
Guests can take part in Lithia & Driveway’s “Ribbons of Hope” during the pre and post-walk party that will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Other sponsor and partner booths will feature information about cancer prevention, screening and special take-aways. After the walk, enjoy live music from Rogue Suspects and food available for purchase from local food trucks.
Spurred by a leadership gift from Mary and Dick Heimann, one of Lithia Motors’ longtime leaders, Heimann Cancer Center opened for patient care in January 2022. The state-of-the art facility brought all cancer services to one convenient location to improve the lives of patients and families. The same year Asante’s Helen K. Spears Cancer Center in Grants Pass was expanded to nearly triple its size and with the same one-stop concept. Earlier this year, the Olsrud Family Women’s and Children’s Hospital at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center opened with a special Pediatric Infusion Unit to care for kids with cancer and other serious illnesses. This growth was made possible by the generosity of thousands of people who contributed to Asante Foundation.
“Providing exceptional cancer care, close to home, is something Asante is dedicated to doing – and we can do this because of community support. Events like Walk for Hope, incredible corporate partners like Lithia & Driveway, and the heartfelt generosity of every person who donates – this is the strength of community and the heart of Asante.” – Andrea Reeder SVP and Chief Philanthropy Officer, Asante.
Participation at Walk for Hope is free and all are welcome. Register here or call 541-789-5025.
