The third Annual Asante Walk for Hope is coming up on Saturday, October 5 at the Mary and Dick Heimann Cancer Center in Medford, bringing cancer survivors, caregivers and community together. The Rogue Credit Union Kids’ Zone is a highlight of the pre and post-walk party that lasts from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm. Kids of all ages will find games, activities and prizes in the Kids’ Zone, surrounded by other sponsor and partner booths featuring information about cancer prevention, screening and special take-aways. Rogue Credit Union is a presenting sponsor of Walk for Hope – all part of the organization’s ongoing commitment to children’s health at Asante.

Children with cancer are cared for locally inside The Olsrud Family Women’s and Children’s Hospital at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center. A state-of-the-art infusion clinic and inpatient pediatrics unit, made possible by the generosity of Rogue Credit Union, means that families in Southern Oregon and Northern California don’t have to travel many hours from home for their kids to get life-sustaining treatment from the region’s only pediatric oncologist and highly specialized nursing team.

Rogue Credit Union members and employees make charitable contributions like this one possible. Throughout the year, fundraising activities like the popular Give+Save program garner donations that the organization directs to change the lives of children.

“Asante is one of a kind. We are so thankful for people in our community who support pediatric care at Asante – because of them, Evelyn was able to receive treatment close to home, and it was such a gift for her to be near her family and friends during her journey with cancer.” – Claire Owens, mom of seven-year-old Evelyn who received cancer treatment with Asante.
